Castle point
The next day was better and sunny, but it was super windy out and really cold at night. We went for a hike up to the lighthouse which was pretty cool.
The picture of the sand is this little beach we had to cross that was sooo windy and we got pelted with sand and it hurt.
Here i am next to the lighthouse.
This is a view looking back from the top of that big rock thing that the lighthouse is on...you can see the sandy beach where all the sand blew at you.
It was super cool....you cold walk around to like this ledge that was at the very end of the castlepoint rock and there were TONS of fossils and stuff in the rocks. i could have looked at them all day :)

We camped for 2 nights and then traveled to the west coast of New Zealand to Paraparaumu to visit friends there. This pic is taken from Paekakariki
. On a clear day you can see t south island from up here, but it was too hazy out.
Here I am standing on the cliff...it was SO windy up there too and a little cold. I think that cable thing is how the lighthouse gets electricity.
