And those were our first 3 days in Germany :) The day after the wine fest we drove to Heimstetten where Stefan lives. We walked around Munich, went to a really cool place called the Therma which had tons of waterslides and different spas, steam rooms, saunas...just about everything relaxing that you could think of...it was really cool. We went to Neuschwantein yesterda which was really awesome, but it we had to do a lot of walking around in the rain which sucked.....and today we visited Nymphenburg (another castle). It was so huge, I couldn't believe it. But I will put pics of those up later!

under construction
Ok...so let's start from the beginning....
Here is dad looking into a cannon thing at johannesburg castle in Afschaffenburg.
Here is mom inside the Johannesburg Castle courtyard...camera is at the ready! (she forgot the camera charger)
Here is Devon in a replica of some Roman baths imitating a statue. After going to Johannesburg Castle and The baths, we walked around Aschaffenburg and thenwent to bed...we were all pretty beat after our first day.
The second day we walked around Miltenburg, which a you can see looks like a fairytale town...everything is so old and quaint!
Here we are at Mespelburn Castle...it was really cool...everything inside the castle was original to it and I'm pretty sure it's still owned by decendents of the people who built it!
Here are Devon and I at Engleburg Cloister...a really old church that has a huge garden!
And here is dad standing in Seligenstadt...another really old tow where we saw really old buildings and really old churches!
We are standing in front of the oldest building in Seligenstadt...it is a Roman building built in the 1100's!!
We also went out to dinner with Stefan's dad at this cute little restaurant...the food was really good! And, that completed day 2.
The next day we visited a greenhouse in Grossostheim.
And this really cool little tower that had great view of the surrounding countryside.
Here's a view of the farmland and I'm pretty sure you can see Aschaffenburg in the distance.
Yay! we love climbing stairs!!
Mom and dad on the balcony of the tower.
We also went to this really cool castle called Breuberg. It was seriously like a fairytale castle.
Mom pointing at something from atop the lookout tower.
Striking a pose in the castle's inner courtyard.
Looking down at the courtyard from the lookout tower.
Walking back down towards the parking lot....it was a long way down!
At the end of that day we went to a wine fest which was really fun. We walked like 2 miles to get there through the rolling countryside. It was pretty cool.
Here we are in front of some of the vineyards...the vineyards were all really small, and you can see the little work houses for them in the background. Basically, you just walked from vineyard to vineyard and they had little tens and tables set up for tastings...we had a lot of fun...as you will see in the upcoming pics.
A view of the vineyards.
We had to walk through some of the vines to get to some of the tasting spots!
We rated each wine we tasted out of 5 hehe...this was a champagne type wine, it was pretty good, but not as good as some of the others we tried.
We've had a couple tastings by now....
So have mom and dad :)
Here we are at one of the tables with Stefan's mom.
By the end of the night, we were all feeling pretty good....good thing we didn't drive here!

Seems like your all having lots of fun and running your selves ragged trying to see it all. Germany looks like a real beautiful place. All I've ever seen of it was the airport.
YAY!! what could be better than wine and castles!?
