01-02 March Abel Tasman
ok...so here is how i'm going to run my blog over the next couple days...it will be kinda back logged. i'm just going to put up a new post for each day my parents were here...and hopefully i'll be able to catch up soon!
Here is a pic of the very top of the south island as seen from out flight into Nelson...very quick flight...only about a half hour.
Here I am lounging in our cabin in motueka...resting up for our big trek along the coastal walk in abel tasman national park the next day.
Dad and our first rental car...we just fit everthing in it haha.
Here are mom and I walking along the beach in Kaiteriteri waiting for our sea shuttle that would take us up along the coast to bark bay and we would walk back some 12 k's to anchorage bay...then get picked up in the sea shuttle again and brought back to this beach.
I found some cool shells :)
Our sea shuttle and the rising sun.
Split apple rock...it's a cool huge granite rock...you can go kayaking around it if you want.
A view of the cool, rocky coastline.
We got to see some New Zealand Fur Seals! there were little baby ones - so cute!
Here I am looking at medlands bay...this is one bay over from bark bay where we were supposed to be dropped off, but it was too shallow from low tide to pull into that bay...so they dropped us off here instead.
Another view of Medlands bay - nice tropical looking water :)
Me and Dad hiking along the coastal track.
Here is dad looking at falls river emptying into the ocean at sandfly bay.
Me about to cross the bridge over falls river.
Me and mom on a big swing bridge.
Mom and dad on the swing bridge.

We got someone to take our picture with the pretty scenery in the background :)
Mom feeling the water at halfway pool.
Me looking out onto Torrent Bay.
Dad admiring the view.
Me at Torrent Bay.
Mom and Dad at Torrent bay...we weren't allowed to actually go on the beach here because it was for a private campground.
Mom and Dad at the sign going to Cleopatra's Pool....they seriously took a pic at every sign we came to! hehe.
The River we had to cross to get to Cleopatra's Pool.

Me and Dad at the sign saying we're almost to anchorage bay and the end of our walk! yay!

Me finally able to put my feet in the water! Now...where to sit on the beach?? :)
I went swimming! the water was a little colder than it looked...but it was very refreshing :)
Dad going exploring along the rocky coastline.
Nifty looking rocks hehe. Pretty looking water. what more could you ask for? :)
