06 March - Three Sisters & Waitomo Caves

The next day we drove up to Rotorua. On our way we stopped to look at the three sisters.
We had to walk through a lot of mud to get there :)

Here I am next to some cool rocks.

Here is mom walking ahead of everyone :)

A cool cave like thing.

There were lots of interesting rock formations here.

One of the 3 sisters got washed away, but you can kind of see where it used to be. In the newspaper a little while ago there was an article on how a new third sister had formed, but I think that one washed away too.

Mom :)

Dad took a while to get out to the beach because he hurt his back somehow...luckily it got better real quick so he could join us!

More cool rocks...

Mom and Dad - it was really windy there and kinda rainy.

On our way to Rotorua, we also stopped at the Waitomo caves which were really cool and we got to see glow worms...like real like glow worms!

They had walkways all through the caves...i'm glad i didn't have to build them!

Inside the caves....stalactites and stalagmites!

More cave formations!

There is a little lake behind mom and dad, but it's kinda hard to see.

hi :)

Me and Dad in the caves...it was pretty cold down there!

There were some cool fossils of scallop shells in the caves!

I tried to take some pictures of the glow worms, but they didn't really come out.....the glow worms were really cool tho...they were glowing blue and looked like stars!

This is the winding spiral we had to walk up and down in order to get into the caves.
