Meet Mr. Hankey

We sold 90 calves on Wednesday morning!!! :( Including Sweet Baby James! I mean, it's good that we sold them (because the market is kinda crap at the moment), but I was very sad to see them go.

Here they are all walking to their doom....and the truck that is going to carry them away. They are just going to live on another farm right now down in Masteron with about 410 other cows...and eventually they will be sent to the works....but i try not to think of that!

One by one they climbed the ramp into the truck...poor little babies.

Here are a somber me and Jamie watching them go.

Mtn picture...I know you're probably sick of them, but it was so clear that day with no clouds!!

Guess who had a sleepover? :) hehe. I took Jamie milking on Wednesday as well...and stole Rua for the night. She is still cute as ever and doing wonderfully! We had lots of fun playing and cuddling and I was sad to bring her back the next day. But I'll visit soon! (and maybe steal her again).

This is me and my car! hehe. I bought it for $550NZ which is about $300something US! YAY! And it passed inspection and runs and everything hehe. And it's kinda dirty in this picture....I still need to wash it. As you can see, the weather here is finally summery! It has been nice and sunny all week...and i'm getting a nice tan...at least on my face and arms haha. I'm such a farmer :)

Apparently my car came with a name...Mister Hankey...HAHAHA. So, I guess that's what i'll call it...even though i think the car is a girl....I'll probably actually end up renaming it because i don't like the name mr. hankey....suggestions? Oh yea...so i would much rather be driving a stick shift...and this car is an automatic....and it has a choke? which i still don't really know how to use correctly...i just know that if my car doesn't want to start i pull the choke out and it starts...haha.

Hi :) I'm so happy I have a car now...driving is a piece of cake on the wrong side of the road! I just have to remember to get into the right side of the car haha. I was driving last night at dusk...with the mountain in front of me outlined against the aqua colored sky with the stars starting to come out...on the wrong side of the road, with no other cars around...and it finally dawned on me that i was in another country hehe. still doesn't seem real to me!
Well, I am hopefully looking forwards to a helicopter ride tomorrow which would be super cool since i've never been on one before....i have to go to a 10 year olds birthday party to do it, but you do what you have to haha.
Cheers!

Nice Car!! It is too bad its an automatic, but oh well. And a choke! thats so cool. The choke basically cuts off air (chokes) the engine so that when you start up theres more gasoline going in which helps it start. Have fun on the helicopter ride.

And yes you are in another country on the other side of the world!

And the mountain pictures are still really cool.

Oh poor cows! Such is the life of a farm animal...and the poor farmer girl saying goodbye. But Dad is right, you can't think of them as pets...even though they are so cute.
And yeah! You've got wheels! It's cute and little...hopefully good on gas! (What is the price of gas in NZ?) Thank you Grant for the info on the choke...I didn't know that either!
And you really are on the other side of the world! It sounds like that was a beautiful evening..with the stars just coming out. Picutes??
How far away is a birthday party that you have to take a helipcopter to get there? And who's the 10yr old? And who even has a helicopter??
Have a wonderful, careful time!
Love you...
Mom
