Here is a random pic of me, jon, jenny, and jojo the night before jojo left...jenny is sad because she is not getting any cuddle hehe.

I went to a winery the other day.

There was a huge map whereyou could put a pin where you were from...I'm the only one from MA - woohoo! I'm the purple pin :)

Sentry Hill Winery was the name, and these are their wines. I tried a boysenberry wine, a feijoa wine, a ginger wine, and a kiwi fruit wine. They only make fruit wines because grapes don't grow that well in this region I guess. The kiwi wine was a little bland for me....and the boysenberry wine was really sweet (mom, you would prob. like it). I liked the ginger wine and feijoa wine a lot...both sweet, but totally different than other wines. I might have purchased a bottle or two... :)

So...Since I will not be home for thanksgiving...i am making in New Zealand. Twice. Last night was my first run at it. I made dinner for Jenny, Jon, and theyir friend Raymond before J&J went to Auzzie for the week and I am in charge of the farm. And I made everything from scratch!! Including the pumpkin Pie....The above picture is the pumpkin...I had to weigh it to make sure I had the right amount haha.

Here I am mashing the pumpkin! who would have thought that they don't sell pumpkin in cans over here! or cool whip..i had to make whipped cream for it too!

Possum Break! We caught a possum in our trap....Jon shot it this morning and I have to bring it over to one of our neighbor's houses....i'm not looking forwards to that job.

back to my cooking....Here are my 2 pumpkin pies (i had too much filling)....and the crust is all wrong, I had to use a frozen crust because they don't make graham cracker anything here! so i have to go in search for ingredients to make a graham cracker like crust haha. They still tasted really good though :)

Here is my feast! Chicken (because turkey was wayyy too expensive....if anyone wants to make money start importing turkeys...or start a turkey farm over here $50-90 a turkey!!), homemade stuffing stuffed inside the chicken, homemade gravy, baby onions, mashed potatos, mashed pumpkin (no butternut is ready yet unfortunately), green beans, and auntie teresa's sweet potato casserole! Amazingly, everything was done around the same time too! yayyy! success!
The next dinner is actually on Thursday night....i've invited some milkers over for thanksgiving...i hope the cooking goes as well!

So...Jon and Jenny are gone until Dec 3rd....their plane gets in at 8pm. Here is my checklist of things I need to get done....I keep finding things to add to it though...I think i'll keep myself busy!
Day 1 of the Pam Being Head Farmer Trial has commenced and so farm has been running smoothely. All of my morning items are done...now just cleaning up a little bit around here, doing some laundry, and bringing a possom over to brians haha. So far so good!

Wow, I'm impressed!..that looks awesome...and fresh turkeys here are the same price (bobs turkey farm in lancaster is about $60 a turkey)
We've been doing some cooking of our own and having weekly feasts at my house on friday or saturday nights. Its fun, but makes me feel old...instead of pizza and beer we have big dinners and wine.
Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving, Take 1
I am amazed at your cooking skills and especially that all of it was done at the same time. I made mac and cheese and chicken fingers the other night and I couldn't get those to be done at the same time!
It looks like you have a lot going on the next few weeks, taking care of the farm. Good luck!
Miss you lots! : )
you can get a frozen turkey for 10 bucks. about 48 cents a pound at stores in Clinton.
