So how is everything going back in
winterland? It's been nice and warm and in the 70's-80's and pretty sunny most of the time here :)
Today, I would like to share some culinary masterpieces with you :)

This, is a slug.
Nooo, not one of those
slimy gross things you find on the ground! it's a potato cut up and it has green herb stock
on top (don't ask me what it is because i don't know)...but anyways, it's fun to eat and it tastes good :) and when you cook it it opens up more and looks like a slug.

This is part of my dinner from Thursday night. I kinda destroyed my slug while trying to put butter in between each slice...corned beef...and my new favourite salad! It consists of lettuce, spinach, basil, asparagus, radish, avocado, feta cheese, avocado oil, salt, and pepper. It is so delicious! This dinner was pretty much heaven :)

This is me and
JoJo...he's from Japan and has been staying with us all week. He's been in NZ for about a month I think and hadn't been to the beach, so I took him...we were going to try to see the sunset....and I know it looks like we're cold, but it was really warm that day and i got a nice tan, i just
brought my vest because i thought it would be windy by the water which it usually is. And the water was warmer than i thought it would be! Next really nice day
I'm going swimming! :)

Well, we were trying to catch the sunset, but i think we're on the wrong side of the island...or at least on the wrong beach! It still looked pretty tho :)

Here is my cute little car (yes i have 1 red door),
with a nice scenic backdrop.

Here are
JoJo and I on the coastal walk...it's around 9 at night at this point and see how light it still is outside! I swear, it's still like daylight out until around 830pm. And
haha for the bunny ears!

A nice evening view of New Plymouth.

Last night (Friday), there was a very nice sunset which I caught on camera - I know...it's so tough to look at this scenery every day :)

The mountain yet again...

Me,
JoJo, and Jenny....mom I am
SOOOOO happy you sent me my sweatpants :)
hehe.

And this is Mr. Bread :)
hehe. Jenny and I were having some fun last night! He tastes pretty good, I had a slice of his ear this morning.
Other than that...things are going well. I have started to compile a list of things to do while Jon and Jenny are away. I have most of my instructions and I think I will be ok. I have just the right amount of nervousness hehe. They leave on Tuesday morning and will be back Dec. 3rd! I think we're going to try a to make a thanksgiving Feast on Sunday night...and I'm going to try another one on the actual Thanksgiving day..............ok dumb question....is thanksgiving always on the 27th, or is it always on the 4th Thursday in November? I feel like i should know this..... :)

haha is Mr. Bread's first name Fred? I think Fred Bread would be a good name =)
Hi Pam,
Your food looks nice. You didn’t make Mr. Bread with legs to run off with like the ginger bread man. Good thinking.
How’s JoJos English? I bet its good if he’s gotten along for a month on his own.
Your pictures of mt. taranaki are the best I’ve seen so far. That mountain just don’t get old.

Hi Pamela!
The sunset over the mountain is soooo beautiful. And the salad and "slug" sound yummy...too bad you couldn't send us some green herb stock to try! I don't think you can send food items to the US, though.
I want to go swimming!
Love you...
Mom
